Khursheed Ahmad

Khursheed Ahmad, born into a family of folk artists called ‘Bhand’ in Kashmir, who over the centuries have played different roles in public theatrical spaces. He has pursued a bachelor’s degree (painting) from Kashmir University and completed a master’s degree in Visual Arts from Ambedkar University Delhi in 2018. His interests in art practice lie in multiple disciplines i.e. performance, text, sound, drawing, found object, and photography. He has shown his work at various exhibitions in India such as his work at Serendipity Arts festival Goa (Dec.) 2019; Artist in Residency at Serendipity Arts Foundation India (Aug.) 2019;  Artist in Residency at Tifa Pune supported by Inlaks Foundation India (Nov-Dec) 2018;  Noon Tauth, Kashmir “Performance art event in Srinagar (Sept.) 2018;  Group show “FICA at C13” Delhi 2017;  and Kochi Muziris Biennale “students biennale” 2014-2015; Khursheed was a recipient of Inlaks Foundation India “Fine art award 2018”. He Co-founded an artist-run space Shikargah collective.He lives and Works in Indian occupied Kashmir and Delhi, India.
