Hekh hosted "Notes of Notes of a working novel" by Arun Vijai on 8th February, 2026 at Jangpura, New Delhi.
The lecture performance is conceptualisaed as a framework within a framework- attempting to negotiate the author's tussle with thinking in a mothertongue which doesn't have a script, and writing in a tongue which is not known to his mother, although writing about the mother. The lack of the mother, tongue appears as a ghostliness, which carries the potential to alter the very genetic of the being itself- changing the dimensions of having space, a home, rest, and belongingness. Through his writings, deconstructions of these writings, Arun traces the journey of writing the first chapter of a novel, which continues to write him in real time.
Arun is a writer, actor and director now based in Mumbai. He works around ideas of language, peripheries, landscapes of being and the structures they produce, through hindi as a contemporary worldly language- where he sees the world and himself.
