Hekh presented "Interfacing as Practice: Modulating Spirals and Sonic Ferments", an interactive session and presentation at Jindal Global University on 16th September, 2026.
The session delved into two key tenets which Hekh is trying to introduce into the cultural paradigm: New vocabularies like interfacing, modulating which when translated to cultural frameworks provide new ways of organising, convening, and making knowledge beyond conventional hierarchies and protocols; along with invitation as a gesture, and what does it mean to sustain a practice which considers invitation as the default protocol and builds futures thereafter.
The presentation grounded the practice of interfacing from the famous Qawalli Khud lehza ba Shaql Aan, sung by Fareed Ayaz and Abu Mohammad, written by the mystic poet Rumi. Deriving from Rumi's the metapohor of clay, which turns into things and is itself, the session proposes a collapse in the subject-environment-interface relationship, positioning into a continuous act of interfacing- where the subject, environment, and interface are not seperate, but rather constitute each other in real time.
