Deli Luhukay

Deli Luhukay was born and raised around Jalan Ratulangi, Makassar, as part of the fifth generation of Maluku diaspora in this city. He briefly studied multimedia intricacies at STIKOM Surabaya for 4 semesters, and returned to Makassar to work part-time in multimedia as a director, editor, graphic designer, animator, and cameraman. His works include music videos from indie bands in Makassar such as The Hotdogs and TOD. In 2012, he participated in the South East Asian Screen Academy (SEAscreen) held in Makassar. Over the past 3 years, he has independently researched the Maluku diaspora in South Sulawesi, which he plans to develop into a long-term project reaching other places in Indonesia where Maluku people can be found. The results of this research will be developed in the form of documentary films and other multimedia works.
